Choosing The Right Piecer For You
Choosing a good experienced piercer is vital in getting something like this done. Piercings by Rhiannon was recommended to me from Iain the owner of Valhalla in Kilmarnock. To make my decision I had a look at her work on her social media channels and her online website. I saw how professional she was and that her images and videos were all done very well and that she had done navel piercings before. This put my mind at ease, I booked an appointment via her website that was extremely easy to use and once confirmed, I was sent out a consent form to fill in before my appointment date. You pay your deposit online and send the consent form and you are all set to go!
The piercing
This has been a long time coming for me to get this done. I've wanted this piercing since I was 15 years old! So over 13 years now, I have been procrastinating on it for quite some time. I'm so proud of myself for finally taking the steps to get it done. It was completed so fast, I was in and out of the studio. The piercer explained everything to me, talked me through what she was doing, making me feel more relaxed during the process. Of all the peoples comments on getting this done, I have to disagree with most. It wasn't that painful at all whereas my nipple piercings were far more sore than this one. All I really felt was the push and the cold clamps and it was all over by then.
My Experience
Booking in was one thing, but going to get the piecing is another. I was apprehensive and I think the anticipation was the worst part! The build up of waiting so long and hearing the horror stories from everyone else. I didn't know what to expect for my navel. Having had piercings before I tried to prepare myself before hand by making sure I had eaten and drank something. Overall my experience with Rhiannon was fantastic and I 100% would recommend her in getting any piercing; so professional and friendly making it a joy to get done.
The Jewellery
When booking my appointment with Rhi online, I got the option for a plain polished or a crystal curved titanium bar bell for my new piercing. Of course me being me, I had to choose the crystal one; I'm definitely not a plain jane. Many places do not give you the option to choose, so this is an excellent touch. The crystal style made me very happy once it was in place as it is just a beautiful addition to my stomach. There are so many gorgeous options in the studio, so I can't wait to go back and pick something out.
Final Say
I cannot thank Rhiannon at Valhalla enough for my wonderful new piercing addition. I'll be headed back there in two weeks to get it changed over.
