My Birthday Week In Greece 2025

In this post, I’m sharing everything about my unforgettable birthday week on the Greek island of Rhodes—where I stayed, what I did, and all the special little touches that turned an ordinary celebration into a core memory. Let’s dive in.

My Birthday Week In Greece May 2025

My Birthday Week

There are birthdays, and then there are birthday weeks—and this year, mine felt like something out of a dream. Greece has always been high on my wanderlust list, but I never imagined my birthday would be celebrated in such stunning luxury style. From sun-drenched mornings on private balconies to thoughtful surprises that had me in awe, my stay at Lindos Grand Resort & Spa was pure magic.

Why Greece?

I’ve always been drawn to the Aegean. Something about the blues of the water, the ancient history, and the mix of coastal charm and Mediterranean luxury has spoken to my soul. After a long stretch of work, motherhood, and just the usual chaos of life, This birthday, I wanted more than a dinner out—I wanted a memory. And when I imagined a dreamy escape, Greece was calling. More specifically: Rhodes, home to ancient wonders, cerulean waters, and the soul-soothing Lindos Grand Resort & Spa.

Greece it was. More specifically, Rhodes. This was booked for me as a birthday present and when I was told I was heading to the wonderful Lindos Grand Resort & Spa, I was so excited and overwhelmed. What an amazing gift to give a travel blogger! It promised adult-only peace, elegant modern rooms, and sea views that looked like they were painted by the gods themselves. Spoiler alert: it delivered and then some.

Arrival at Lindos Grand Resort & Spa, From the moment I arrived at the Lindos Grand, I felt an energy shift. The calm of the stars at night lit up the sky and the warmth was there in the air along with that smell of exotic plants. Smiles upon the reception faces across the lobby’s polished marble and floor-to-ceiling windows that open up to the Aegean Sea. With a helpful check-in and a short cart ride, I was quickly escorted to my room.

Let me just say—my suite was a dream. Clean lines, calming neutral tones, soft lighting, and a private infinity pool that stretched out toward the horizon. The kind of place where you immediately exhale, take off your shoes and feel your shoulders drop two inches.

The Cake

A Cake to Remember: “Happy Birthday Eve”

I decided to sleep in. No alarm, no emails, just the rhythm of the waves as my wake-up call. When I finally wandered out to the balcony in my robe, coffee in hand, I felt deeply present—and deeply grateful. But the best surprise was yet to come.

Later that afternoon, the staff brought out a beautifully decorated cake to my room. Not just any cake—it was a chocolate-covered gato-typed cake, with piped cream and fresh berries, with a chocolate message piped in delicate lettering across the top: Happy Birthday Eve.

It was unexpected. Thoughtful. Personal. And let me tell you, that cake tasted like joy. Rich but light, sweet without being overwhelming—just like the whole week. I sat in my little slice of paradise, fork in hand, and devoured every bite.

The Heart Float Surprise

On the third day of my stay—still a few days before I was returning home—I spent the morning at my private pool swimming. Once I had gotten out and had my morning coffee in my robe. Approaching lunchtime I got some work done. The door chapped breaking me out of my laptop screen and saw something that made me gasp when the door was opened: a giant white heart float waiting for me to go into the pool.

Not just any float. This one was extra. I mean Instagram-worthy, glossy, and oversized—the kind of float you see on travel influencers’ pages and think, “Okay but who really gets those?” Apparently, Me.

I stood there grinning like a kid, phone in hand, snapping photos from every angle. Later, I found out the staff had arranged it based on a note from my booking. That attention to detail? I was already sold. Floating in that heart, surrounded by sun and serenity, I felt like I had floated right into a love letter to myself.

Adam finally told me he had arranged a heart float for the room for my birthday, one day out of the week. This was amazing. Being a water baby, I could enjoy my food and champagne while being in the water, relaxing. The selection was amazing. So many favourites to choose from. After getting all the pictures and videos out of the way I then enjoyed my afternoon in the pool with my champagne and the delicious selection of fine Greek food. Soaking up every moment of this with a smile and laughs.

The Bottle Of Champagne: Complimentary Champagne Toast

During this amazing week so far just as the sky was blushing into sunset, there was a soft knock at the door. I opened it to find a staff member holding a silver tray with a chilled bottle of Moët & Chandon and two flutes. Complimentary. Birthday week vibes.

There’s something so beautifully affirming about being remembered and celebrated, even by people who don’t know you personally. They had no idea what this birthday meant to me—a reclaiming of joy, a pause after a stormy season—and yet, here they were, bringing bubbles to my balcony.

I poured a glass, sat on the edge of my pool, and toasted to the sea, to the sky, to Eve. Here's to me making it another year. I felt in that moment alive. Having almost lost my life to Anorexia Nervosa just 5 months before this trip. It was emotional even for a second being able to say I was still here and still present for my birthday once more.

The Complimentary Dinner & Massage

The owner had offered me a free massage, and if you have read my review of this hotel, I have touched base on this subject. I couldn't get it done, as even when I am in another country, I am working some of the time. On my schedule, it just wasn't going to fit in. It is a shame, however, that I still loved every minute of my birthday holiday.

He also gave us a free Japanese restaurant experience. We attended this only for a short time again. The food there was insatiably good. Bursting with flavour. A Taste of Tokyo in the Aegean: Japanese Dinner Night On the last night of the trip, I received an invitation to dine at the resort’s Japanese restaurant—an elegant, exclusive spot perched above the main terrace. If you know me, you know sushi is my love language, so you can imagine how fast I RSVP’d yes.

The experience? Next level. Think open-air ambiance, gentle lantern lighting, and a curated multi-course dinner that blends Japanese precision with Greek flair. I sipped on white wine while enjoying everything from sashimi so fresh it melted in my mouth, to a delicately charred miso cod that I’m still dreaming about. And yes, there was dessert—matcha panna cotta with yuzu zest that felt like a citrusy kiss goodbye.

Reflections From A Birthday Well Spent

As the week came to a close, I found myself journaling on the terrace one evening. The sea stretched out endlessly in front of me, and the stars were just starting to flicker on. I wrote about love—self-love, to be exact. About the importance of choosing joy, and of allowing yourself to be celebrated without guilt or hesitation.

This trip, this birthday, was a gift. A reminder that I don’t need a reason to take up space, to be seen, to feel beautiful and whole. The Lindos Grand didn’t just provide a luxurious backdrop; it gave me the space to reconnect with myself. And that, more than anything, is what I’ll take with me.

Overall

To come to a close on this birthday article, I really cannot thank the staff and Adam enough for making my birthday week special. This has been one of the few things I have ever really celebrated for the first time. As my birthday is on New Year's Day, I am very limited in what I can do and how I can celebrate.

No one has ever really cared about making birthday plans for me, and this year I felt like my birthday mattered. So I am in awe of how this turned out and had such a wonderful time, especially in a country I had fallen in love with, such as Greece.

From the float in the pool to the champagne toast, from gourmet dinners to the handwritten cake message—every detail whispered: You matter. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned this year, it’s that you should never wait for that kind of magic. Make it. Make those memories. It's all worth it.

With love, from Rhodes—

Book the trip. Float in the heart. Eat the cake. Toast the view.
Let your next chapter begin somewhere beautiful.

Eve
