My Stay At The Kresten Palace Greece
In this new travel article, I'll tell you all about the Kresten Palace holiday resort in Rhodes Greece.
My Stay At The Kresten Palace Greece
The Hotel
The hotel I stayed at was quite luxurious. I tend to stay in a four to five star when travelling for work or pleasure. Anything below this I tend to avoid. Although saying, that I stayed in a four star hotel in London and actually had a complete nightmare! Maybe I should share that with you guys in a new article, so you can avoid staying there! Anyway the Kresten Palace hotel seemed perfect, clear blue pools, restaurant and two bars.
The Family Suite
The hotel room I had, was a family suite with my own swim-up pool. I do plan on going away to something similar, as this was perfect for me due to being a complete water baby. I do love being in water. So, definitely on the agenda for next year in 2025, there will be more like this again. As most of my travel articles are based on the best 4/5 star hotels around the world that I have stayed in, and many more to come! It will be based with beach locations and how to get the most out of your time there. Having your own private swim up is a luxury you just don't want to miss out on. The family suite is more substantial in size, giving you more out of your stay. It's worth an upgraded room.
The Staff
When you go on holiday, it can be a bit crazy. You have the language barrier and sometimes the staff don't understand all of your needs. There were moments that the staff were just so ignorant, that I would leave the hotel and not come back after a full day, just so the staff change over by then would have happened. Not all were like this though, I did have a few friendly and respectful staff members that I ended up having on social media, and becoming quite close to, during my stay at the Kresten Palace. Don't let that one bad egg spoil the bunch.
Things To Do
At the hotel, there was entertainment at night, karaoke, singers, dancers, performances to do with the crowd. This really isn't my scene. So at night I would get a nice bottle of something and go back to my room, have a nice glass of either whisky or rum and chill out on my patio. I did this if I wasn't going for dinner or didn't go exploring. I had found out about a place called Old Town, which is well worth a visit if you are ever in Rhodes. Keep reading!
Old Town
You can walk for miles round Old Town. It's really beautiful, with all the old buildings turned into shops or houses. It was such a beautiful place to spend the day walking round and really appreciating the old Greek town and traditions. YouΒ can spend a whole day here, without a doubt, you won't leave empty handed! So many shops and antiques to have a look at. The history is so beautiful and in a tranquil area like this. However, that being said, Old Town is quite large, therefore it's easy to lose your way! So keep a reminder of what streets you are on and don't get lost!
Pool Areas
As I said previously, I had my own swim-up pool, which was nice and secluded, but there was other pool areas for everyone else. I did go down for a swim and to sunbathe on the first day by the bar pool. Having more than a few really (lol). Enjoying time soaking up the sun, and a quick dip in the pool to cool off in between. This was one of the largest pool areas, down the back of the hotel close to the beach front. The other pool was up on another level, outside the restaurant area. I didn't use this, as I much preferred my own space really. My swim up pool really was just right for me personally. I could take a swim whenever I wanted, and not be interrupted by others. I do really recommend for your next holiday to get one similar to this. Or even book the Kresten for your next hot destination.
Creatures I Met
Upon exploring either Old Town or the near by areas. I met a few friends, even in my hotel room! In the bathroom one morning there was a little cricket type creature that was large in size, just chilling under my sink! I did manage to set him free, back outside and he went on his way. Usually when I am in Cyprus its riddled with cat's. However, this was the first holiday I had been that it wasn't cats, it was dogs! I took my morning coffee out to my private pool and there they were. Enjoying the water sprinklers, two large dogs hanging out together. It was really special to see them happy and enjoying cooling off by the pool side. Another little strange creature I came across, when I was going a long walk to explore the area. This little guy, I almost stepped on! But it's bright red body made me see it straight away. I was nicknaming it a dice spider as on it's red back, it had black spots like on a die. This was really awesome to see! After looking up what this little guy was, turns out he's going extinct. Such a shame, I watched him for a while as he went back to the bush and green forestry land. Knowing he was safe I left him to it, wishing him luck.
Greek Food
I had these amazing salmon sandwiches while sipping on a lovely Greek white wine in the sun. You can't go wrong with a good Greek dish, especially in authentic Greece. Famous for their feta cheese. It adds to every dish. The Greek really do take pride when it comes to their foods. So full of flavour and oozing in elegance.
Overall
Overall, this was a great little get away holiday, definitely needed. Greece seems to be my go to get away country. I cannot get enough it. I think I may even go back and explore more of what they have to offer next year! Where should I visit?
