Lace & Beads Birthday Dress
In my latest article I will tell you about this gorgeous dress from Lace & Beads I wore on my birthday week in Greece.

My Birthday Dress โ A Love Letter to Lindos, Lace & Legacy
There are birthdays โ and then there are birthday weeks in Greece. As someone who lives for storytelling through style, I knew that turning a year older on the sun-kissed island of Rhodes deserved more than just any outfit. It needed to be personal. Celebratory. And timeless.
As the sea shimmered below the cliffs of Lindos and the bougainvillea bloomed around every stone wall, I stepped out for my special evening in a dress that made me feel like a Grecian fairy with a punk heart โ soft, feminine, but entirely myself. Hereโs the full look I wore for my birthday dinner and golden hour strolls, right outside Lindos Grand Resort & Spa.

The Dress: Ethereal Romance by Lace & Beads
I had been eyeing this dress for months โ a dream in tulle and texture, created by Lace & Beads. Known for their intricate hand-embellished pieces, their designs strike a balance between whimsy and elegance, and this one was no exception.
The dress is a midi-length tulle wonder, structured at the bodice with the lightest, softest puff to the skirt. It moved like air with every step. The fabric caught the Aegean breeze, floating around me like clouds. It made me feel like I had stepped into a modern fairytale โ with tattoos and all.
The frothy hem details, like delicate white blooms at the base, added a sculptural touch that elevated the look beyond โpretty.โ It was architectural and romantic, soft yet bold โ exactly how I wanted to feel stepping into another year of life.

The Shoes: ASOS Triple-Strap Mary Janes
Letโs talk about the shoes โ these glossy white Mary Janes from ASOS were the perfect balance to the dress's movement. With a patent finish and three delicate straps that crisscrossed over my tattooed feet, they grounded the dreamy tulle with a touch of mod-inspired edge.
The block heel gave me the lift I needed for elegance but kept me comfortable as I walked the cobbled paths of Lindos. What I loved most was how these shoes juxtaposed the softness of the dress โ making the whole outfit feel curated but not overly polished.
They added that slightly rebellious, retro-kid twist I always lean into when dressing up โ a nod to my roots as a tattoo artist, and a reminder that femininity doesnโt have to be delicate to be beautiful.

The Handbag: Maniere De Voir Clean Lines & Quiet Luxury
To complete the look, I carried a mini maniere de voir structured handbag in creamy white โ small enough to be elegant, but big enough to fit all the birthday essentials (lip balm, my room key, a mini perfume and of course, a phone for snapping every sunset).
It's design was minimalist โ square flap, soft leather, and silver hardware that echoed the detailing in my jewellery. The subtlety of the bag was intentional; I wanted the focus to be on the textures of the dress and the shine of the accessories. But it's crisp silhouette brought a modern balance to the floaty lines of the rest of the outfit.

The Jewellery: Vintage Pearls & Grandmotherโs Diamonds
Now for the most meaningful part of my birthday outfit โ the jewellery. The pearl and diamond set I wore belonged to my grandmother. Itโs vintage, classic, and laced with memory.
The necklace features two strands of perfect pearls cinched with shimmering diamond-set clasps โ a piece that feels like it was made for a moment like this. I paired it with the matching earrings, subtle in size but rich in sentiment.
Wearing this set wasnโt just about accessorizing โ it was about bringing part of my history with me into my future. My grandmother had a bold, elegant spirit, and I felt her with me as I looked out over the Aegean, wrapped in white and light.
Tattoos & Tulle: Owning the Contrast
Letโs be real โ Iโve never been the โclassicโ birthday girl. My tattoos are a part of my story, and I love the way they peeked out from under the delicate straps of the dress and danced across my collarbone beneath the pearls.
Thereโs something unapologetically powerful about pairing ultra-feminine pieces with inked skin. The dress didnโt hide my tattoos โ it framed them. The softness of the fabric and the sharp black lines of my artwork told a story together, not in conflict, but in harmony.
This outfit was more than just a look. It was an expression โ of softness and strength, tradition and rebellion, romance and realness.

Lindos Backdrop: A Birthday Dreamscape
Every element of this outfit was chosen with Greece in mind. Lindos, with it's whitewashed walls and turquoise sea views, felt like the perfect stage for this fashion story.
As I walked out of our hotel โ the Lindos Grand Resort & Spa โ into the golden hour, the light hit the dress just right. The tulle caught the glow, my pearls shimmered with each turn, and I felt... present. Alive. Celebrated.
Locals smiled, strangers complimented the look, and as the sun dipped below the hills, I realized โ this wasnโt just about clothes. It was about wearing joy. Wearing confidence. Wearing a memory that would live longer than the sunset.

Final Thoughts: Dressing for Myself, Always
Turning a year older in Greece was a gift. But what made it extra special was feeling completely like me in this outfit โ tattoos out, vintage pearls on, a soft dress swirling around my legs, and a mind full of memories.
If youโre looking for a sign to wear the dress you love โ the one that feels too โmuchโ or too โextraโ โ let this be it. Dress up for the moment. Wear the heirlooms. Mix the romantic with the radical. And most importantly, dress for you.
This birthday look will always be one of my favourites โ not just for how it looked, but for how it made me feel: beautiful, bold, and completely at home in my own skin.

Closing Thoughts: A Dress, A Moment, A Memory
This outfit wasnโt just about celebrating another year around the sun โ it was about honouring every part of myself that got me here. The softness of the tulle against my skin, the delicate shimmer of my grandmotherโs pearls, the confident echo of my heels on cobbled Greek paths โ it all came together like a love letter to both past and present.
Wearing this look in Greece felt symbolic. It was elegance and edge. Romance and rebellion. A blend of heritage, personal style, and a little birthday magic. I felt beautiful, not just because of the outfit, but because of the story it told โ a story woven with memories, identity, and intention.
So hereโs to dressing up, showing up, and celebrating in style. And hereโs to the pieces we wear that carry meaning โ from designer tags to heirloom pearls โ and the unforgettable moments we create in them.
Thank you for being part of mine.
